All Tips and tricks here for the Mitel 5000

I have done the course on this system but the salesmen have not sold the system. Still have my notes on how to build a system and programming up extensions.

So I can offer assistance on these if someone gets stuck

Now I am hearing it is the truth on the end of life for this system!.

I guess I will just wait until the day comes. I know they are not selling many so maybe this is the reason . Who knows

System is not EOL.

Mitel and Aastra have now merged and looks to be keeping all their product line at the moment.

Mitel 5000 has now been rebranded 'MiVoice Office 250'

I admit they are not selling well here but I did just install one end of 2014.

Thanks for the update on this. I must admit, I stopped working on the Mitel product about 2 years ago so have not really had much experience with the 5000.

Interesting that Aastra have taken them over, I will have to look into that. I had heard that the 5000 was an older product that had been rebadged and so I was not surprised when I heard it wasn't taking the world by storm. Perhaps you know more and we would be interested to hear.

Should we be changing the name of this forum to Mitel/Aastra?

Mitel actually acquired Aastra so it is just Mitel from now.
Aastra products have/will be rebranded Mitel.

The did also try to buy Shoretel late last year but they didn't accept the offer.

The Mitel 5000 is actually an Inter-tel product, I am not familiar with Inter-tel but basically Mitel rebranded them quite a few years ago. About 2-3 years ago they got introduced into Australia.

Mitel have rebranded and renamed their products that much it's hard to keep up.

I think the 5000 has its place like all systems. It is not as robust and as good quality as the 3300 but it serves the SMB well in the way of features and bang for buck.

Thanks for the update, perhaps the name change was the thing that was causing the end of product rumors.
